  28. Abalda by Storm Type Foundry, $21.00
Abalda adds to the number of “bad-taste” alphabets as seen on faded commercial inscriptions painted on neglected old houses. To enhance its warm character, some picturesque discretionary ligatures were added. Use it for posters, private invitations, or create a punchy company logo – the smell of old times will coin decent traditional look without a vulgar “Art Nouveau” cheapness. Yes, Abalda shares its overall proportions with Zeppelin 43, hence the whole family is a good choice to combine with.

  35. JabcedHy by Ingrimayne Type, $5.95
JabcedHy is a serifed, legible typeface in four weights with each weight having both an upright and an italic style. The original four fonts (plain, italic, bold, and bolditalic) were constructed by blending two other typefaces, and because the result seemed better than either parent, the parents were retired. Semibold and extra bold weights were added in a 2019 revision.
  36. Stage Invader by Hanoded, $16.00
There was a big climate protest in Amsterdam a couple of days ago. During Greta’s speech, a man jumped onto the stage and grabbed her microphone, because he didn’t approve of what she was saying. Some English media referred to him as ‘the stage invader’, which I really liked. Long story short: I made a ‘protest-ish’ font, using cheap black finger paint from the local store and a brush from my kids. The result is a rather unique font called Stage Invader. And yes, you can use it for your protest signs too!
  37. FP Head Pro by Fontpartners, $29.00
Architectural yet human, as if the letter forms had been delicately carved in stone; their rounded stroke edges and corners lovingly eroded by the surf of the Baltic Sea; slightly overexposed, radiating comforting warmth, giving the impression one was looking at the characters against the setting sun. FP Head Pro reviewed by Yves Peters and Typographica.org: One of the most noteworthy typefaces for 2008.
