Scirocco is a hot and humid wind that blows from the Sahara over to France and Italy. It crosses the mediterranean sea and carries lots of fine desert dust with it. Once it hits the coast of Provençe one can feel it grinding ones teeth and see it as fine dust covering every car. It makes people go nuts! Scirocco, the typeface has that same hot moving character and the finer hairlines giving it a kind of Arabic touch. If you use it too much, it will make you go nuts. Your pretty crazy Gert Wiescher

Breeze is a fun font from Frank Marciuliano where the letters are formed like the sails from the boat. He may have been inspired from the sailboats which he sees on the walks along the shore on the Hudson River. There are two forms available. Left and right define the direction of the blowing wind.

This font was inspired by the title logo of the TV show The Wild Wild West (season two). The font was named after the train in the TV show. Cottonwood is a group effort of the typeface artists K.B. Chansler, B. Lind and J. Redick and displays the unmistakable look of the Wild West. It is stylistically modelled on the typefaces used in advertisements and signage toward the end of the 19th century. Typical for these capital alphabets are the split serifs which emphasize the markedly decorative character. Cottonwood is a kind of homage to the Western typefaces (woodtypes) which became popular through their use on Wanted signs in Western films. Cottonwood is best used sparingly in headlines to best emphasize its decorative, 'wild' character.

Slughals is danish for someone who eats to much in a kind of greedy way. It came to my mind that "slug" ("swallow" in danish) is snail in English. It lead my mind to the brushtraces of the font, could look like traces from a snail/slug. Slughals has ligatures for most double letters and two fancy swashes for the letters r and k.

Years before the "Jet Age", and way before computers and satellite television turned us into jaded "armchair travelers", the ocean voyage aboard giant steamships to distant ports of call beckoned many to travel the Seven Seas. Far away lands had a magic and mysticism to them, for few Americans knew anything about those places unless they read about them in books or saw travelogs at their local theaters. Many songs were written with themes of romantic South Seas travel, and one vintage piece in particular entitled "Down Where the Trade Winds Blow" offered up the hand lettering which served as a model for Sea Cruise JNL.
