  4. Trollkatt by Hanoded, $15.00
A Trollkatt in Norwegian myth, is the cat associated with witches. The last few days a stray ginger cat seems to have adopted us - she comes into the house, lies down on the carpet and loves the cat food we bought her. We have posted some ‘found a cat’ messages online and hung op some flyers - just in case someone is missing a cat. Because of the stray, I decided that I should name this font something cattish, so Trollkatt is what popped up. The font is quite nice; I made it with my Chinese ink and a brush, from which I cut most of the hairs. This font won’t catch mice, but it will put some magic into your designs! And the stray cat… well, if she isn’t chipped and no one comes to fetch her, we will keep her. #happyending

  6. Bandmaster JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The opening movie titles from the 1940 musical comedy “Strike up the Band” (starring Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney) inspired Bandmaster JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

  8. I love fridays by Bogstav, $18.00
Who doesn't love Fridays? For many people it is the end of the working week and the start of the weekend. What's not to like? I tried to put all that great vibe into this font - it is charming and clumsy and ready for a party...just like my Fridays...ehh...my Fridays are actually quite simple - no parties or staying out till early morning...been there, did that...now I love my Fridays, just the way they are! :)
  9. Nouveau Showcard JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The 1920 song “Noah’s Wife Lived a Wonderful Life (‘Cause Noah Had to Stay Home)” is another example of one of those overly-worded song titles from early 20th Century composers. What’s more important for type enthusiasts is that the title was hand lettered with a round nib pen in a slightly ragged Art Nouveau style. Cleaning up the ragged design, the end result became Nouveau Showcard JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
  10. Keswick by Hanoded, $15.00
Keswick is a beautiful small town in the English Lake District. It is a good place to hang out for a while and explore the surrounding National Park. During your stay you could visit the Keswick Pencil Factory - which brings us to this nice font… Keswick font was created using a 6B pencil (the crumbly, soft kind) and a lot of patience. I have to admit, the pencil used was not made in Keswick. Sorry 'bout that…
  11. Forgotten Playbill by Lauren Ashpole, $15.00
Years ago, I came across a vintage playbill and was struck by its lettering. The detailed floral pattern surrounded by thick outlines stayed in my mind even though the play's name and cast have faded. I finally tried to recreate the style from memory and Forgotten Playbill is the result. While all letters are actually capitals, the uppercase rotate slightly counterclockwise and the lowercase slightly clockwise. I suggest alternating between the two to reproduce my mystery inspiration.
  12. Angustina by Diego Massaro, $30.00
Angustina is an elegant display typeface, it takes inspiration from classic letter styles. I chose the font name after reading the classic Italian novel “The Tartar Steppe”. I was inspired by the sickly, stoic and mysterious man who differs for his willingness to stay at Fort Bastiani. Angustina conveys distress and stinging sensation with extreme contrasts between thick and thin strokes and exasperated serifs. The alternate of hairline and bracketed serifs gives Angustina a modern and military appearance.
  13. Antea by Wiescher Design, $39.50
Antea is named after "Antaeus" the giant of Libya in Greek mythology, son of Poseidon and Gaia (mother earth), whose wife was Tinjis. He was extremely strong if he stayed in contact with the earth, but once lifted into the air he became weak and liquid. So is this font, strong if grounded and weak if floating in the air. I will in due course add different weights for different purposes. Your designer of very mysterious fonts, Gert Wiescher
  14. Twirrewyn by Hanoded, $15.00
Twirrewyn is Frisian for ‘Whirlwind’. I have always liked the Frisian language; it’s like a crossover between English and Dutch. When I studied journalism in Zwolle (a city close to Fryslân) there were a lot of Frisian students and I did pick up a few words! Twirrewyn is a handmade font family: the fat version was made using a brush and ink; the light version was made using that same ink, but with a broken satay skewer instead of a brush. And yes, you have guessed right, we eat a lot of Satay! ;-)
  15. Pocatello JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00
The hand-lettered title, cast and crew credits for 1943's "Presenting Lily Mars" (starring Judy Garland and Van Heflin) inspired Pocatello JNL, but the name of this typeface has another Judy Garland connection. In the 1954 remake of "A Star is Born", Judy sings of being born in a trunk in a theater located in Pocatello, Idaho. The name of this Midwest town had such a great sound to it, so it was the perfect choice for the font's name. Available in regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique versions.

  18. Klein by Zetafonts, $39.00
Klein PDF Specimen Klein is Zetafonts love letter to the grandmother of all geometric sans typefaces, Futura. Starting from a dialogue with Paul Renner’s iconic letterforms and proportions, Francesco Canovaro and Andrea Tartarelli decided to depart from its distinctive modernist shapes with slight humanist touches and grotesque solutions - with some design choices evoking the softness of humanist sans serifs like Gill Sans. The end result is a workhorse superfamily of 54 fonts with full multilingual capabilities and coverage of over two hundred languages using latin, cyrillic and greek alphabets. The original display-oriented family, developed in nine weights with matching italics (from the hairline thin to the sturdy black), has been paired with a text version (with slightly higher x-height, better readability and maximum legibility at small point size) and with a condensed version, to be used for space-saving display solutions in editorial and advertising formats. With a name that is both a nod to its humble functionality and an homage to french nouveau realiste artist Yves Klein, this typeface aims to become your next trusted companion in all your adventures in print, digital and motion design.

  21. Starry Night by Lauren Ashpole, $15.00

  25. Vacation Resort JNL by Jeff Levine, $29.00

  26. Impending Distaster by Hanoded, $15.00
There's nothing really disastrous (impending or not) going on in my life right now, but I have always liked the expression. I thought about it when I watched a news item about the recent storm we had in Europe. The news showed footage of a person narrowly escaping a huge falling tree. Impending Disaster font is certainly no disaster. I created it using my fantastic Chinese ink and a broken tapas skewer (I seemed to have run out of my regular satay skewers). The result is a slightly rough, comic book kinda font. It comes with two sets of alternates for the lower case letters (which cycle as you type), one set of stylistic alternates for the 'O' glyph (and all accented O's), an alternate ampersand, asterisk, question mark and exclamation mark and a set of alternate numerals. Impending Disaster comes with extensive language support, including Vietnamese, Greek and Sami - so don't come running and say you didn't have any options! ;-)
  27. CHILD & MOMSKY by Rhd Studio, $15.00
Style and Grace personified - say Child Momsky. This typeface has two main styles, Regular and Italic, that are designed to work elegantly in unison and apart. The serif has a boldy different ' f', which sets it apart from regular serifs.....as Child Momsky likes to stand out from the rest. A regular 'f' is included in its alternates, and a extra font style with a regular f is included for projects that require a more staid elegance. The Italic style is dreamy, sultry and light-footed - a perfect partner for the more serious serif. Use them together or apart for stylish, stand-out type designs and projects. For those of you who do not have access to Opentype Software, such as Canva Users, a separately available 'extra letters' font set will be available for purchase soon. Language Supported : Danish, English, French, German, German (Switzerland), Italian, Low German, Luxembourgish, Norwegian Bokmål, Norwegian Nynorsk, Portuguese, Swedish, Swiss German. Enjoy

  32. Blitz by Wiescher Design, $20.00
A very glitzy Blitz! I always wanted to design a typeface that was top heavy, but I never knew how not to make it look like Antique Olive, until recently -- I had an idea. My new family is very readable despite it beeing top heavy, thin on the low end and thick on the upper end. The font gets a special shine because of this effect. And it stays readable despite its special design. Your designer of surprising typefaces, Gert Wiescher

  34. Influenza by Kenn Munk, $26.00
Influenza, whose name means 'the flu' in a number of languages, is a fat, single weight typeface. It's a bastard typeface, each character stands alone as an independent angular structure. Some characters have stylised blackletter features, some are quasi-bitmapped, some are blends between upper and lower case. This also inspired the name since the flu virus changes every time it comes around, it's a new disease every time you have to stay home under the covers drinking hot tea.
  35. Piedra Pro by Sudtipos, $29.00
The world may seem cartoonish to you, pilgrim, but the funnies ain't really that funny. The Flintstones are so last century. The Hulks are in, and they're here to stay. Piedra is the rocky, fear-inducing face of galvanized triceps and überchiseled jawlines. Be intimidated, be very intimidated. You don't believe it? Just push the stylistic alternates button and see it disregard the laws and spit pebbles on the sidewalk. Then run to the hills if you want to live.
  36. Palembang by Hanoded, $15.00
Palembang is the second largest city on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is also one of the oldest cities in Indonesie and used to be the capital of the powerful Buddhist Kingdom of Srivijaya. After finishing Semarang and Semarang Kolonial fonts, I sort of stayed in the Indonesian mood and named this font Palembang. It is a narrow, tall, all caps Art Deco typeface and would be most suited for headlines, cards, headers and luxury packaging. Palembang comes with royal language support.
