The Whimsies series goes further in our fixation with invented little people: the three dingbats of this series contain mostly imaginary situations, drawn first with ink on paper. All but a tiny fraction of the illustrations (a total of 114) have been drawn from one's imagination, with no previous models. The themes depicted here are varied and often humorous, though the humour is on the darker side, you are warned. The themes have a definite retro - victorian feel, with top hats, moustaches, long coats, walking canes and the like. Together with their close relatives, our Illustries, Bizarries, Ombres, Absurdies and Genteta dingbats (we give this bizarre collective the common name of Whimbats) you can use the Whimsies in an endless variety of projects, ranging from small spot illustration to whole pages, page spreads or posters applications. You can use them as they come in the digital font, or customize them easily in your favourite graphics program. A touch of texture or color will give them a completely new look. The vectorial nature of digital fonts means you can enlarge them to any size, with no loss of crispness in their outlines.

The Augsburger Family is a product of the Art Nouveau period in Germany and Austria, reflecting the darker, heavier Jugendstil approach typical of the Secession movement in these two countries. Originally released by H. Berthold AG of Berlin and Bauer & Co. of Stuttgart in 1902, Augsburger has been attributed to the designer Peter Schnorr. This current version represents a year-long revision of the Augsburger Family. All three fonts have been updated to eliminate duel encoding, harmonize metrics, and review all glyphs. In addition, the following features have been included in the individual fonts: Augsburger Schrift: a total of 249 glyphs have been added, for a total of 467 and an increase of 114%. New are Tabular Numbers, Small Caps, a variety of Ligatures and the refinement of all accents. Augsburger Initials: complete redesign of upper case, inclusion of upper case from Schrift instead of lower case, plus inclusion of small caps and a selection of appropriate ligature. My son Konstantin wants to become a cook. So I thought it would be a nice idea if I designed a script for his fabulous future menus as a gift for him. I think he will become a great cook. The three Konstantin cuts can be mixed. The A cut has the most straightforward letterforms, the B cut has more swashes in the capitals and swinging descenders and last but not least, the C cut gives you some fancy lowercase letters. Hand drawn serif typeface designed for one of our books. It has upper and lowercase characters with up to three alternate glyphs. Build in OpenType Contextual Alternates feature will automatically set alternate glyphs depending on frequency of appearance of the same character (even in web font but only in HTML5 browsers). The script doesn’t throw random glyphs. For example in the word “HIPPOPOTAMUS” you will automatically get three different “P” glyphs and two “O” glyphs. It really works great but of course you can always fine tune it by hand. Mrs Ant has an older brother. Mr Anteater was designed for headers for the same book.

New Millennium Sans is one of three font families that share a common name, a common design philosophy, a common x-height, and basic character shapes. (The others are New Millennium and New Millennium Linear; all three work well together.) New Millennium Sans is a "humanist sans" in the Optima vein -- but without certain quirks (e.g., the "waisted" strokes) of the latter. It has proportional lining numerals whose height comes midway between the lower- and uppercases. (The bold styles are identical to those of New Millennium.) New Millennium Sans might be used in books, periodicals, or any large text blocks where a legible sans is desired.

Rough and ready, bold and urgent. Or playful and fun in bright colours. The original letters were cut from actual potatoes, then scanned in and converted to vector outlines. Lighter and more heavily inked versions were used for the three variants. Using Opentype character-substitution technology, Salvation rotates through three versions of each letter to create a naturally uneven printed effect. Unlike hot metal type, the potatoes were cut the right way around. This produced reversed prints, which were then flipped back in Photoshop. Originally produced for Hughes' Get Lettering activity book, the font was then extended to cover numbers, punctuation and full European language support.

ITC Magnifico Daytime and ITC Magnifico Nighttime are inspired by nineteenth-century decorated types and letterings. “Although they are designed as display typefaces, their use is not limited to large headings. Usually three-dimensional types are employed in gigantic headings in large posters, but I thought it would be interesting if such decorative types were used as well in small sizes, say at 12 point,” says designer Akira Kobayashi. “There were a few examples of small three-dimensional types used in cards printed in the nineteenth-century. I studied their letterforms carefully and became more and more interested in those small three-dimensional types. The outlines of ITC Magnifico are robust enough to endure use at small sizes. Sometimes the angle or the shape of the 'shadow' had to be slightly modified or even illogical, because the letterforms ought to look as simple as possible. The resulting types are fairly easy to read at small sizes, and I hope that at large sizes those occasional oddities will appear charming.”
