On October 15, 2006 we became proud parents of three babies. To commemorate (and help pay for diapers) I decided to release this baby-themed dingbat set. All proceeds for the next few years goes to pay for lots and lots of diapers.

Inspired by the more than hundred years old classic Cooper Black, Chunk Black features a hefty character with rounded serifs and a soft yet sturdy overall appearance. The specimen book Alphabete: ein Schriftatlas von A bis Z identified the pattern for this typeface as Stymie Black Flair. Marian Churchland was born in Canada in 1982, and was raised on a strict diet of fine literature and epic fantasy video games. She has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (English Literature and Visual Arts) from the University of British Columbia, and has been doing professional illustration work, including book covers and magazine articles, since she was 17. Last year, she became the first woman to solo-illustrate a CONAN story, and this year she’s illustrating three issues of ELEPHANTMEN for Image Comics.
