Very thin fluid strokes and high speed letters form this casual script entitled TCF Plana. TCF Plana is elegant and functional, expressive yet harmonious, with more bounce and irregularity of rhythm than usual formal script typefaces. TCF Plana was executed with a ball-point pen and then digitised so it would convincingly mimic handwriting by using a plethora of contextual alternates which makes the words look much more natural and beautiful.

The idea behind Geotica was to build a font out of -more or less- simple geometrical line elements. The open wire frame could then be left open or (partially) filled. Geotica comes in four different grades or line thicknesses (One, Two, Three and Four) so it's suitable for a broad use. Each grade has four styles and is loaded with swashes, final forms, lots of ligatures and ornaments.

DecoSpring is a decorative art-deco family that was inspired by one word in an advertisement in a 1978 edition of my local newspaper. I could not find a typeface that matched it so decided to create one, which became DecoSpring-Regular. It is caps only, with an alternative set of capitals on the lower-case keys. Characters with very thick stems invite interior decoration and I opted for floral decorations. DecoSpring-Flowers can be used alone or it can be layered on top of the regular style to create colored flowers. Changing the width of the bolder stem resulted in two more style, the light and thing styles. Another set of four styles, the Simple set, was formed by eliminating the split in the stems by merging the two parts. All the DecoSpring faces are display faces to be used in small doses, and especially the bolder ones, at large point sizes.

Coriander is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson. It started out as a doodle one afternoon Donaldson was bored and uninspired. He wrote the word Coriander" and was then distracted by the sun beating through an adjacent window. He taped the writing paper up on the window as a shade. He took it down a few months later, folded it up, and stuck it in his pocket. When the piece of paper fell out of his pocket a week later, he was inspied to draw the rest of the characters, two alphabets in his sketchbook. The final digitized characters were created by Donaldson using a Wacom tablet and later refined on the screen."

Neustade is a layered typeface based on a simple grid, taking inspiration from the work of Wim Crouwel and Foundry Types. I challenged myself to create a typeface where words and letters can appear within or outside of other words and letters with the help of layering. Neustades grid also applies to the spacing and kerning of individual letters or words, ensuring that every layer will line up and allowing different weights to interact with each other. Individually each weight within the Neustade family has been designed with legibility at small sizes in mind, allowing for smooth and uninterrupted reading. Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like). Where does it come from? Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Where can I get some? There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making this the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humour, or non-characteristic words etc.

Last year I spent some time exploring the city of Bath in England. Its claim to fame are the Roman Baths in the city center, which are well worth a visit. Kingsmead is an electoral ward within Bath and I thought it was an apt name for this rather stylish - if old fashioned - font. Kingsmead Script is a handmade font. It comes with diacritics and some discretionary ligatures for double lower case letter combinations.

National Parks JNL was based on a 1930s WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster where the word "National Parks" was hand lettered in an unusual and eclectic Art Deco style. Bold and non-conformist, the typeface is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The design of Cyan was inspired by features found in classic Roman and styles like Trajan and Bodebeck. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. The Capitals version contains Roman numerals. Cyan's weight is similar to Trajan's but the horizontal strokes are slightly bolder resulting in better legibility for small sizes, especially for lowercase characters. Cyan Sans evolved out of the hugely successful Cyan Serif family. Cyan Sans retains the same geometric Roman proportions with open centers in B,P,R b, d, p . This helps create a thick and thin stroke illusion since the actual strokes don't vary much. There are many subtle details in Cyan Sans that become more interesting in larger sizes. The beauty of Cyan Sans is that it has no features that "jar" the eye. The result is a very pleasing and distinctive sans that scales well. Cyan Sans is a robust font that will exceed expectations in areas never explored before. The name is inspired by the Greek word cyan, meaning "blue". Blue as a primary color that has many hues and uses. Cyan the font, we hope will be seen in a similar light. Obviously Cyan Sans is a perfect companion to the Cyan Serif family.

Skeletal Wish is a line from one of my favourite Opeth songs: Heir Apparent. The lyrics are pretty veiled and bleak, describing the destruction and downfall of something that once was beautiful. I am worried about what is happening with our planet: the Amazon forest is burning down, our oceans are full of plastic and the earth is warming up. I had to think of this when I created Skeletal Wish and I thought the title was perfect. Skeletal Wish is a heavy and scary halloween font. It comes with blobs, splatter, gore and whatever else you may need for your designs. It won’t help save the Amazon rainforest, nor will it stop the flow of marine plastic, but you could use it to create a protest sign. After all, the change begins with you.

There are a few professions in which being left-handed confers an advantage-think of the great southpaw pitchers in major league baseball, like Sandy Koufax. Now, think of all the great left-handed calligraphers. Not so easy, right? Here's a hint: Luis Siquot. Far from being an advantage, Siquot's lefty orientation proved a hurdle to overcome. When I was young, I had serious problems writing," he recalls. "If there was a lot of text, I almost always soiled the paper with wet ink as my hand followed the pen." Then, a friend told Siquot about a special store in London that catered to left-handed people. It was there that he found an Osmiroid pen specially designed for left-handed calligraphers. ITC Cali is based on Siquot's use of this pen. "Electronic scans of my calligraphy were the foundation of the design," he says. "I was careful to leave in some imperfections to avoid an excessively mechanical look, and added the little notches in the strokes to imitate the texture of writing on a rough cotton paper." Bombarda is a big gun, and surely a font named like that must have specific dimensions in order to make the text sound loud and powerful. Worthing aims to combine Victorian charm with modern-day requirements for legibility and clarity, and we hope, demonstrates that traditional elegance still has its place in the modern world. Meanwhile, for those who are curious about the naming of our fonts, Mr Lloyd our designer was reading Mr Wells (H. G.) War of the Worlds recently. No doubt some of you will remember the part that Worthing in Sussex played in that story. Worthing is offered in three styles: regular, alternate and shaded. It's ideal for Victorian and Edwardian era inspired design work, posters and signage, as well as for book covers, chapter headings and so forth.

Gauche Display is a "tasteless and awkward" script font for those who don't exactly want sophistication in their typographic script usage. Techarí comes from a commission in which the brief consisted of the creation of a typeface family to be used for the design of the third disc of the band called Ojos de Brujo based in Barcelona. This disc was called Techarí, which means “free” in Caló, the language of the Spanish gypsies. The starting point of the design was the music of this band, the meaning of the disc 's name, and three words given by the band as key concepts: ethnic, baroque and graffiti. Techarí is a mixture of lots of influences, which give it its unique personality. From its technical viewpoint designing Techarí was a challenge, on the one hand it had to have lots of personality, and on the other it had to work in text at 9 or 10 pt size. Its goal is precisely that, while keeping a strong personality it works in text size. The typeface also contains a Stencil version for use in display sizes which keeps Techarí's innovative spirit. The way it has been “cut" is unconventional, it has been carefully done to keep the freshness of the typeface by taking advantage of the letterforms' flow. Techarí extra complements the typeface by taking a classical typographic form, the ornament, and making it a contemporary graphic tool, vindicating this wonderful typographic element.

Originally the word means ‘to fit out’ and it is probably derived from the Norse word ‘skipa’, which means ‘arrange, fit out a ship’.
