Plantin is a Renaissance Roman as seen through a late–industrial-revolution paradigm. Its forms aim to celebrate fine sixteenth century book typography with the requirements of mechanized typesetting and mass production in mind. How did this anomalous design come about? In 1912 Frank Hinman Pierpont of English Monotype visited the Plantin-Moretus Museum in Antwerp, returning home with “knowledge, hundreds of photographs, and a stack of antique typeset specimens including a few examples of Robert Granjon’s.” Together with Fritz Stelzer of the Monotype Drawing Office, Pierpont took one of these overinked proofs taken from worn type to use as the basis of a new text face for machine composition. Body text set in Plantin produces a dark, rich texture that’s suited to editorial and book work, though it also performs its tasks on screen with ease. Its historical roots lend the message it sets a sense of gravity and authenticity. I regard Sabio as an evolutionary face. By this I mean that it merges elements of script and Roman design into one elegant whole. The design was 'evolved' somewhere between these two classic approaches. The resulting family of faces makes an excellent display family, but is also clear and legible at small sizes and can be used as a text face with a distinctive flair. Sabio is a wonderfully flexible face that can sit happily alongside artwork that owes its inspiration to any era from the Art Deco onwards. The regular form is gently and subtly oblique, and the glyphs have a slight hint of swash about them. Alternate and perpendicular forms are also offered. 8bit darling is digital taste font. I think digital fonts are bitmap fonts generally, but dared to make digital fonts that are not bitmap fonts and made it. The name "8bit darling" borrowed a name from my favorite song. I made it consciously that it is a digital style but not so much inorganic. It contains hiragana, katakana, alphanumeric characters, some symbols. Horizontal writing only, vertical writing is not possible. Although it is slightly unique, I think choose a scene to use too much. To make it more 21st century-like, I have spiced the font up with some OpenType alternate letters and ligatures! You will need to use OpenType supporting applications to use the autoligatures.

Mooono is retro futuristic monospaced font. The bright side (uppercase) is straight and to the point but the dark side (lowercase) is fat and funky. Mix up the upper and lower to create some serious spaced out vibes. I only saw the crescent, you'll see the whole of the mooono!

Kokomo is a beautiful handmade contoured font - which was drawn with an old-fashioned steel pen and Chinese ink. The open, shadowed letters are great for posters and ads. Kokomo comes with extensive language support and has an alternative lower case a, for those who don't like the one I used.

Acadami is an experiment toward what will hopefully be my masterwork (probably named Hackberry). It's also the font used as I get used to FontLab 5. The serifs are stronger and sharper. It's modified with the feel of my memory of Century Schoolbook (without ever looking at CB for a reference.
