I built the Orchid Key font family from the ground up with the idea that there would be several different styles; the Inline Spurs style was the first to be built, which let me then subtract the spurs, inline slices, or both to make the other styles. I've never made a font quite like this before, which shows in the time it took - it's been over 5 months since I started construction! Each style contains the same character set, with 700 total glyphs. I was inspired to create the Rainier type family during my summer back home in the Pacific Northwest. The concept behind it may be simple - a hand crafted font family - but what it delivers is quite complex! Here is a breakdown of everything you get: FONT FAMILIES: Two sub-families with unique styles - Rainier North and Rainier West WEIGHTS: 4 weights per family, broken down numerically - 100 (light), 300 (regular), 500 (bold), 700 (black) OPENTYPE: In each family, there are tons of OpenType options, offering lots of customizable opportunities (in order to access all these goodies, you must be using Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign or Publisher). Because Rainier is 100% handmade, contextual alternatives allow each letter has three subtle variations, this way it keeps that authentic hand-drawn look. Etruscania font is base on Anchient Etruscan Alphabet. This font was inspired by the hand-written 1648 Munster peace treatise signed by French King Louis XIV and German emperor Ferdinand II. I do a lot of taller, narrower handwriting fonts; this time around, I was inspired to make a wider, shorter handwriting font! These four sets are based on the elegant and beautiful work of the German graphic designer Emil Rudolf Weiss. The initials were made to complement Weiss’ text fonts and were cast in the 1920s by the Bauer Type Foundry of Frankfurt. Also known as Weiss Initials Series I, II, II Bold, and III, the lettering has a distinct antique quality. These extremely hard-to-find digital versions look superb in large sizes and remain huge favorites among book designers. Wellsbrook Initials are now available in the OpenType Std format. Corsica is an all-purpose geometric sans-serif typeface of visually uniform stroke thickness. This one - partially based on the classic "Kilroy" icon from the World War II era is a newer, cleaner reworking of one of Jeff's early freeware fonts.
