The Trellis font family was an effort to combine my love for Art Nouveau and storybook lettering. The capital letters are intricately illustrated and fully appreciated when magnified. Trellis is a font family decidedly decorative and ready for greeting cards and holiday cheer. I was inspired by Storybook caps for the capital letters, and wanted to combine it with some lettering from early 20th century posters. What are its main characteristics and features? Leaves intertwined and growing out of the ends of the capital letters. Although it's highly decorative, it remains legible. Usage recommendations - Holiday Greetings, scrapbooking, personal seals since the capitals are quite attractive.

Say hello to State, this family is inspired by sport and a further development on Comply Slab. This family of fonts has some bold letters as well as stylistic alternates to give your layouts some interesting variation. State comes in 3 styles, Regular, Soft and Rough each with 7 weights and italics. It was specifically designed with a wider structure for better appearance in small sizes and the extra attention to the detail was needed for the big sizes. New Jonesy Latin is a rough version of Jonesy typeface. It includes 4 Styles: Print Script, Print Capitals, Rough Script and Rough Capitals for Latin languages. Print Styles work better in middle and large font size. New Jonesy is a funny modern script with a touch of vintage. It is good for menu, packaging, posters and as a starting point for lettering and logos. All contextual alternates are built into the “Liga” feature that is turned on by default. However, when your work with the typeface, please make sure that “Liga” is turned on.

Reklame Script is a brush typefamily consisting of four weights. It was designed by Hannes von Döhren in 2010. This family is influenced by the handlettering of printed advertisements of the 1940s and 1950s. You can combine the four weights to gain a better emphasis – perfect for headlines, posters, and other display uses. Reklame Script is equipped for professional typography. The OpenType fonts have an extended character set to support Central and Eastern European as well as Western European languages. The fonts also contain double-letter ligatures to prevent repetition.

Marketing Strategy JNL was inspired by some display signage used in an episode of the classic "Alfred Hitchcock Hour". Evoking the early-60s feel of kitchy advertising, this display font has a limited character set and is specifically designed for creating retro ad banners and point-of-sale attention getters as well as period piece signage. For those preferring a blank hexagon for spaces between words, one is located on the equal key. Marketing Strategy JNL is available in both regular (outline) and solid (white letters on black) versions.

The Flounder Pro is a simple and clean condensed all-caps sans serif font. It is a close relative of the Floz, but has rounded edges. It comes with Cyrillic, Greek and Latin alphabets, the latter including loads of accented characters. It is also equipped with a bunch of ligatures, as well as alternates for the letters J, W, Q, Z, Ω and Ξ. Those features are easily accessible via opentype features. This family includes three weights with their respective italics and backslanted versions. The Flounder works well for Logos, Headlines, or short texts.

Nimbussant Bresslo is a contemporary sans and attipic unicase were lowercase alternates with smallcaps creating an unusual look that can be used in posters, logo design and headings or small bold plain texts. This grotesque typeface supports most of the latin based languages and also kyrillic and greek alphabets. For a plus of a modern and young appeal, some of the letters have a very sharp, straight and minimalist body design but you may find also their stylistic alternates to better emulate the look you find more appropiate for your design.

Verge exploratory information transmitter Verge type family operates at the very edge of art and technology in the typographic constellation. Its fairing is designed with a new technique that adds better stability to the curvature. It is prepared for all environments and communicates with minimized latency. The letters of this contemporary slab serif are compact, clear and rather simple. It is suitable for branding, longer texts, information graphics and signalization. The typeface’s x-height is a little above 70% of its capitals. The italics are designed at a 7° angle.

ITC Cushing has a long history. The typeface was originally designed by J. Stearns Cushing, a Boston-based book printer, and famous American type designer Frederic Goudy expanded it to include an italic weight. Under a special license from the American Type Founders, Vincent Pacella modified the design for ITC and added some additional weights. ITC Cushing is slightly condensed with large, bracketed serifs. Pacella changed the capital letters to better complement the lower case and replaced the sloping serifs of the italics to linear type serifs to produce ITC Cushing.

ITC Chivalry is a calligraphic hybrid that honors the tradition of combining Roman capitals with italic lowercase letters. Drawn by Missouri lettering artist Rob Leuschke, who used a flat-nib pen on textured watercolor stock and then converted the drawings into a digital font, the design combines an old world" feel with "new world" legibility. A companion set of black letter caps completes the suite of characters. "I've loved drawing letters for as long as I can remember," says Leuschke. "Even in kindergarten, I tried to draw letters like my teacher." After graduating from college, Leuschke worked for a short time at a sign company in St. Louis, and in the early 1980s began working at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. His talent as a calligrapher and lettering artist eventually brought him back to St. Louis to begin a freelance career. Since then Leuschke has created over 250 fonts, primarily for the greeting card industry, that are now being used on work for his clients all over the world. Leuschke first conceived of the face as just the black letter caps; he later added the Roman letters to give the design more versatility. Melcheburn is a classic late-medieval gothic font based on original lettering by Samuel Welo. It has strong, formal lower case letters and extremely ornate and decorative capitals.

From a few hand drawn letters seen on a poster from 1939 you may find this font familiar. Miss Scarlett resembles the Gone With The Wind poster lettering.

Zumbelsburg is an exuberant, calligraphic typeface. The lower-case letters of Zumbelsburg are fairly standard blackletter characters, but the upper-case letters are ornamental, often with large flourishes.

Inspired by the stroke movements of brush lettering ‘Summer Display’ is an energetic family featuring high-contrast and well-proportioned letter shapes suitable for large displays and headlines.

A slab serif Mr Palker and grotesque Mr Palkerson build one superfamily together.  These are blank types. In a way even the display ones. Typefaces for newspapers, announcements, cheap advertising and police posters.  Mr Palker and Mr Palkerson will turn every language into a fence. And due to six types of faces one can choose what material should the fence be made from — from Thin steel rods to   the Black stone blocks. In their simplest appearance Mrs P&P are  intended for the solid blank composition in victorian or industrial style. They are quite decent, a bit old-fashioned slab serif and grotesque with closed aperture. All my types have layers. Walker and Palkerson also do. Besides the standard set of symbols, they have 4 add-ons. 1. Alternate glyphs, including unicase ones. 2. Ligatures with A letter. 3. Extra tall small caps. 4. Two-storey ligatures. All this options are intended for the complex composition. The additional letters are rather eccentric as their main function here is to imitate the victorian oddities. Imitate, parody, just not repeat. There are lower-case As and Es in the set in height of small caps and uppercases. They can turn every writing into the unicase.    The lower-case A (as well as uppercase and small caps version of it) has deliberately by my taste grown a ludicrous tail. To compensate it I’ve built all the possible ligatures - ад, ал, ая. There are 35 of this ligatures all together. Take a closer look at the Russian letters D, L, K, Ya from the main set as well as their alternates. The additional glyphs are one more comic than the other — on purpose to imitate (not to repeat!) the victorian set. This sets have lowercase numbers. And small caps numbers as well. What a modern typeface without them. They also have an У-letter with a generously curvy tail. As if before the WWI. The Latin of course has alternates as well. It has letters to make the perfect French sound more like the russian provincial version of it. The tails of Js and Ts can be made a little bit more open — or a little bit closed. My favorite feature here, an invention of a kind - extra tall small caps. It allows to compose logos with the small caped uppercases directly from the keyboard. The small caps of this typefaces are usually much taller than the customary ones. This is the kind of small caps that Palker and Palkerson have. More to that, the strokes’ weight and the letters width are corresponded to the uppercases. Just a ready set for making a logo a la 1913 style. With a unicase, one has to mind! One more trick with the tall small caps is a possibility to make them work like lower uppercases. Their height is just in between of lower- and uppercases. Isn’t it great to have an additional set of uppercase working ponies in stock for the case of emergency. And finally — the trademark of Palkers family, two-storey ligatures. They are made in the height of uppercases and turn every writing into an ornament or a puzzle of a kind, while at the same time making them much shorter. Each face has 90 of them. Mainly those are twins: CC, BB, DD and so on. ll this things are for the unhasty compositing, even for lettering. Which means that for the things which are not there you always should have Command+Option+O and some patience. Also — among the two storey ligatures one also can find some belvedere villas. All my types are glasses from the one kaleidoscope. The P&Ps family was preliminary part of the victorian set, which already has 1 Cents and Clarendorf - optionally one can add Costro, Gordoni, Handy, Guardy, Surplus, Red Ring, Red Square, Babaev to the list. And also Sklad, Odessa, Dreamland, Romb, Platinum - here, at Letterhead’s, every second one is victorian. Rotwobot is a loveable modern typeface with a slight retro appeal. It comes with quite a lot of ligatures and also robots and musical instruments. The font features auto ligatures for duplicate letters, many connected letters, quite a few graphical elements that can be accessed by shortcuts (lowercase letter + number form 0-9) and smallcaps.

The hand lettered title found on the sheet music for 1938’s "So Help Me (If I Don't Love You)" was the basis for Totally Deco JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. A classic mix of widely rounded letters and condensed letters typifies the design style of the Art Deco era.

March may be a good time to use this typeface. PattyDay is a caps-only typeface in which the letters are decorated with shamrocks or clovers. Some but not all of the lower-case letters are different from the upper-case letters. If you want a version of this face without the shamrocks, try Ingone.

Moore 003 was inspired by Henryk Tomaszewski's poster lettering for the Moore Exibition (Warsaw, Poland 1959). The headline "Moore" is composed of paper collage. The lettering, in Tomaszewski's vision, contrasts in ways that recall the contrast of Moore's sculptures. It was my intention to continue this research using lettering in the form of a typeface.

The 1960 revised edition of Sam Welo’s “Studio Handbook – Letter and Design for Artists and Advertisers” showcases the many interesting lettering designs Welo hand lettered for his book. One such example is an extra-bold serif typeface which is now available as Law Office JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. --------------

Kailey font is a hand lettered, voluptuous typeface that is very special to the Great Lakes Lettering team. State Of Love and Toast is a retro typeface reminiscent of the early 90’s. It’s certainly the Seattle of fonts. The font features auto ligatures for duplicate letters, quite a few graphical elements & shapes which can be accessed by shortcuts (lowercase letter + number form 0-9) and smallcaps (alternate versions of the lowercase letters).

Is it monospaced? Is it a numberplate font? What's up with all the different letters? The questions about Jolly Beat are many, but I can tell you this: No sharp edges, multilingual support, contextual alternates (5 different versions of each letter, that automatically cycles as you type!) and a good handful of unpredictable letters!

Rosalinde is an original font based on rough hand-lettering reminiscent of 1960s era protest poster lettering. It's the kind of lettering you'd expect to see used for a snippet of anti-war poetry set against a red-white-and-blue striped background, or perhaps accompanied by a fat dove with an olive-branch.

This is a blocky typeface with thick lines and no serifs. It's a modern design with a hint of vintage lettering with a thicker vertical line on one side of each letter. Most letters are square shaped. The two styles are regualar and hollow, with the hollow style having the thicker areas hollowed out.

Hamilton is a tall, bold display font developed from hand lettering by Samuel Welo. It embodies elements of art nouveau poster lettering and turn-of-the-century advertising design. The result is handsome and versatile, well suited to many uses. The full version includes lots of nice alternate versions of many of the letters.

The name says it all. Gothic from the old literary style and/or current subculture genre. And Gothic meaning a block or sans serif style of lettering. The concept was to take the classic German style lettering and create a contemporary extended block letter typeface. The result is a fusion of old and new.

WurstchenDotted is made up up of sausage segments. It does not have true lower-case letters, but rather variants of the upper-case letters instead. As all extreme display fonts, it is useful in small doses. The three WurstchenOverlay fonts decompose WurstchenOutlined and can be used in layers to create letters with three colors.
