The sheet music for the 1934 tune "Two in A Dream" had the title hand lettered in a bold type style that utilized some stencil and some solid lettering. Following through on the stencil portion of the design, Tuxedo Stencil JNL was created in both regular and oblique versions. The 1930s were the era of elegant supper clubs and night spots, and it was not unusual to find gentlemen all decked out in formal wear for an evening on the town, hence the font's name.

The Monotype Typewriter" series contains three typefaces. These were made to enable type to be set that could emulate output from real typewriters. Use where a typewritten look is required for reports, tabular work, where the fixed pitch nature of these faces is an advantage, technical documentation and correspondence. Typewriter Regular is the base style of the family. We’re in a lockdown of sorts (again) and things are pretty … uhm … boring at the moment. No going out for a coffee, no school (so the kids are at home), no meeting with friends… The new reality kinda sucks if I say so myself. Besides that, it turns out that we have a new dominant type of Covid in Holland.. wait, Dominant Type! Ahh, great name for my latest font! Dominant Type is a handmade all caps font. It comes with extensive language support (including Vietnamese) and 2 sets of alternate glyphs for that bit of ‘random awesomeness’!

Diversa is a typeface that takes a very different path from the most fonts, both in terms of appearance and usability. Diversa is a single typeface with 9 fonts within, containing 2760 glyphs*, divide in 9 stylistic sets, but the main difference is that all the glyphs are kerned with each other, which means you can swap glyphs between stylistic sets and keep them properly kerned - unbracketed serifs, bracketed serifs, engraved, stencil, sans, slab, baroque, stencil sans, stencil slab and a stylistic set that mixes them all in a rotative feature. A piece of hand lettered sheet music from the era of the "Roaring Twenties" served as a model for Raccoon Coat JNL. It was a time of Prohibition, bathtub gin, flappers and college boys decked out in beanies and raccoon coats. College pennants, ukuleles and "23 Skidoo" were all part of the youth culture during this period; which gave us such dances at the Charleston, the Black Bottom and the Lindy Hop.

“The Film Daily” issue for August 30, 1927 ran an ad for Tiffany Pictures in which all of the main text was hand lettered in a sans serif style displaying the beginnings of the Art Deco movement. With their rounded terminals, the characters were designed using a round nib lettering pen. Redrawn digitally as Silent Cinema JNL, it is now available in both regular and oblique versions.

Shortly after the preparation of the original Century, the two Bentons (father Linn Boyd and son Morris Fuller) prepared a wider version for De Vinne’s press and called it Century Broadface. In 1900 ATF released the design for general use as Century Expanded, one of the most popular and effective of typefaces, to this day the text face of the New York Daily News.

RF Marshall was inspired by an 1883 tombstone, tucked away in a pioneer cemetery. The 4-sided marker is sparsely adorned with homespun carvings of a handprint, two tulip poplar leaves, and these words: "RF Marshall died 1883 Aged 72 years." The font faithfully reproduces the stone's hand-carved lettering and artwork, as well as artwork from other 18th and 19th century American headstones. It was drawn with calligraphy nibs dipped in walnut ink and delights in a range of end uses including period films, rustic decor, Halloween decorations, historical logos and branding, and on the pages of children's books.

Ermou is a display monospace font. The typeface has a distinct geometry using sharp angled corners as a tribute to writing and carvings of Ancient Greece. The name is derived from Ermou Street (Οδός Ερμού) or “Street of Hermes” named after the Ancient Greek messenger God and "the bringer of good luck" Hermes (Ἑρμῆς). The famous street was one of the first roads designed in modern Athens, Greece. Today Ermou is Athens’ commercial heart and top ten most expensive retail streets in the world. The A.B. Dick Company was a manufacturer of mimeograph duplicating machines which produced copies by the process of transferring ink through an etched wax stencil onto paper. Customers had the option of purchasing various size and style lettering guides in order to create eye-catching headlines or announcements on their print projects. One such guide called ‘Modern Display’ featured a lettering style resembling Futura Black with added serifs. This is now available as Template Moderne JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

These four typefaces, Berlinette NB, Lyonette NB, Marseillette NB and Parisette NB, were designed from the same basic shape, a fanciful geometric form that avoids strict horizontals and uses more offbeat triangular shapes. Marseillette is the nasty one, with sharp hook terminations that require careful use. Don�t slip and accidentally stick one in your hand � it will hurt pretty bad and make you blubber like a baby. It�s good for surreal warning signs on dark, forbidding docks where gooey monsters live.

Nordikka is a 10-style sans-serif simple pure typeface designed by Luciano Vergara. Nordikka is a condensed font with a large x-height and straight terminals well-suited for headlines and short texts. A good option for clean and visually appealing designs. Nordikka is inspired by Scandinavian culture and its globally recognised design, which is characterised by pure, clean and clear forms. The final stage of the design process was completed in Olinda, Brazil, which inspired some of the words in the font specimens, allowing for reflecting an image of people’s daily habits and customs.

I love cheese snacks in all kinds of variations. As a kid I even loved having chessy fingers, but as an adult I prefer to wash my hands (instead of licking and sucking each finger "clean") So, as a loving memory of an all time favourite snack, I made this all caps organic looking sans. Obviously handmade, and cleaned up digitally...just a little bit. Furthermore I have made 5 different versions of each letter and made sure that there is plenty of multilingual support!

Hello, friends! I recently bought myself an old game console, the SEGA Mega Drive 2. For a long time I couldn't understand why, when I was a kid, it seemed incredible to play it. Nowadays there are a lot of games with stunning graphics and realism, but still there is something warm and light in old games. Maybe it's just a memory of a carefree childhood. After playing it, I decided to create this font so that everyone could do something in the style of old games that an army of designers and programmers hadn't worked on yet. Cord (Zsinór in Hungarian) was originally a commissioned work for a tablecloth pattern with a thread like frame decoration that is actually consist of letters. The lettershapes were being created based on Rovas characters, which were reinterpreted without decreasing legibility. Delugional is an Atlantis theme typeface, it's character set is an imaginary alphabet inspired by Greek style scripts mixed with Classic Latin. This font is a display font family of two weights, Regular and Bold. It can be used for various creative/mythological and fantasy theme projects from book covers to games or movie titles. There are some OpenType features such as Stylistic Alternates and Discretionary Ligatures along with some extra symbols like sun, moon, snake and the stylised map of Atlantis in place of stylistic set 02 of uppercase "O". Fortuna has some resemblance with handtexted characters based, loosely, on the classic italic. But, like Ad Hoc, Fortuna is drawn on a monitor in every detail. The name is Latin and means fate, luck. The composer Carl Orff was actual at the time when I worked with Fortuna, because he had been born 100 years earlier. Orff's Carmina Burana were being introduced on the radio when I was wondering what to call my most recent creation. The song cycle begins with a song to Fortuna: a fated choice of name. Fortuna was released in 1995.
