Franz Kafka’s manuscripts have always been a source of inspiration for designer Julia Sysmäläinen. At first she was just interested in literary aspects but later she noticed that content and visual form can not be separated in the work of this ingenious writer. Analyzing Kafka’s handwriting at the Berlin National Library, Julia was inspired to design the typeface FF Mister – by now a well known classic. Over the years, FF Mister K became a handsome typeface family and even produced offspring: the Josef K Patterns. Some of Kafka’s most expressive letterforms were the starting point for these decorative ornaments. How do the Patterns work? Outlines and fillings correspond to the uppercase and the lowercase letters on your keyboard. You can use them separately or layer them on top of each other. If you write a line of “pattern-text” in lowercase and repeat it underneath in uppercase you get a row of fillings followed by a row of outlines. Now you can color them and then set line space = 0 to get a single line of layered colored ornaments. Alternatively, activating OpenType / stylistic set / stylistic alternates will also unite the two lines to a single layered line. SF Saggar is an Arabic typeface for Print and screen. Inspired by an alphabet written by the calligrapher and artist Mohamed Said Al-Saggar 40 years ago to simplify Arabic printing. Saggar is from Naskh style and contains 3 weights: Regular, bold and black. SF Saggar is a simple and little detailed font and its three weights are fully harmonized, one letter with one length on the line, and words with a uniform length on the line, gives a comfortable reading look.

Designed for ParaType in 2004 by Vladimir Pavlikov. It is a new version of popular type Quadrat Grotesk by the same author. Letters of the new version in contradistinction to the old one are clean and have no traces of exploitation. Quardat Grotesk New due to its rectangular proportions is extremely readable in small sizes and can be successfully used in Web pages and in documents with long lists where critical aspect is a number of lines rather then length of a line.

Circling Vultures is an old west slab serif font offered in degrees of aging; Circling Vultures BB is clean, with sharp edges and lines, Circling Vultures Decay BB has rounded corners and distressed lines, Circling Vultures Rot BB is the most worn out option in the set, with flecks of missing "ink" apparent. In October 2010 I released a font called “Zanoix” It was based upon a an old horror movie poster. I looked through and old folder, and found the font that served as a base for this the grungy font. Zonaix is opposite to Zanoix, because it is super clean, pointy and is made entirely of straight lines! With the sharp pointed serifs and whacky lines, it is a good choice for a legible seriffed font - not necessarily for anything scary!

The lettering on the cover of the sheet music for 1919's "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise" was set in a decorative sans serif with an engraved line adorning each character. Reminiscent of the headlines of legal documents, way bills, stock certificates and the like, the digital version of the design was given the name Legal Eagle JNL and is available in both regular and oblique versions. A companion font without the engraved lines is also available as Junior Clerk JNL.

This handwriting font uses the texture of canvas or linen showing through the lettering. The texture lends itself well to chalk or crayon, although with a close enough look you can see the true texture of fabric.

Positive Vibe JNL is a meeting of two eras... The model for this font was Jeff Levine's Two Reeler JNL, modeled after title cards in a Charlie Chaplin movie from the beginning of the 1900s. With a few stroke weight shifts, this versatile font takes on the image of the "Peace and Love" generation of the mid-60s and early 70s.

Farquharson is an all-caps display face, adapted from an early American woodtype, and designed especially for use in the book Charlie Farquharson’s Unyverse. The complete family consists of two fonts: a regular version and a stencil version. Alternate versions with slightly elongated feet are provided for A, H, K, M, N and R. Very eccentric, it is best used in small doses.

Almondita feels equally charming and elegant. This stunning handwritten font is a stylish homage to classic calligraphy. It features a varying baseline, smooth lines, gorgeous glyphs and stunning alternates.

Monbloc is a typeface inspired by geometry and lines. It intends to be a practical font wich gives the designer the freedom to incorporate it in his wildest designs.

An inline version of the Latin bold condensed, and designed on the suggestion of Robert Harling. There is a double white line, which was originally engraved in Latin type.
