Inspired by the MacFarland series in the 1912 ATF catalog, Apparel is a typeface that shares similar functional characteristics with Times New Roman and Caslon fonts yet it has its own personality: A great choice for high-impact design. Apparel is a contemporary, classy and fresh serif typeface with a laid-back attitude that best suits your design needs. Its medium-large x-height makes it ideal for headlines and brand identity design. Apparel also includes a version, with a greater contrast between thick and thin strokes, for use in even larger sizes. The font comes with italic styles which can be used individually or in combination with the upright variant. Moderately slanted italics are also available as OpenType Stylistic Alternates. Each font style supports more than 200 Latin-based languages, as you would expect from Latinotype fonts. Apparel also includes a basic Cyrillic set, old style & lining figures, fractions and alternates, among other OpenType features.

Inspired by vintage books and the pages within, Appareo is an imperfect, worn serif font that comes in three weights. Each weight has a varying degree of distress, from Black, in which the press and ink fully set into the page, to Medium, Light and Extralight, where the texture is heaviest. Each weight also has a custom italics version of each character. To fully give the authentic feel of worn pages of dusty books, Appareo has 5 character variations. Appareo also has a set of graphic elements, including frame, banners, borders, arrows, etc in the same style and texture.

An image spotted online showed a rendering of a ladies’ fashions storefront that had appeared in the Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company’s 1939 brochure. The signage consisted of the hand lettered word ‘Apparel’, and was done in a variant of the Art Deco stencil style of lettering that’s most recognizable in Futura Black. From these few sign letters came the inspiration for a digital font of the same name, Apparel JNL – which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Americana was designed by typeface artist Richard Isbell in 1965. The generous forms of this typeface contain large inner spaces. Lines of text look light and airy and require generous line spacing. The high cross strokes and the open inner spaces make this font highly legible even in small and very small point sizes. The triangular serifs are a distinguishing characteristic of Americana. These first appeared in the 19th century in France and inspired by the developments in lithography, which allowed for freer forms. The forms were typical for advertisement and display typefaces. The sophisticated Americana is particularly suitable for advertisements and personal correspondence.

An original design by Richard Isbell for ATF; in exaggerating the tapered stroke introduced eleven years earlier in Hermann Zapf’s Optima, Isbell created the first flareserif to achieve popularity in the United States.

Americain is a retro-style font, which was based on a single headline from a thirties advertisement. The letters are all caps, but there's a little difference between 'upper' and 'lower' case. Americain is ideal for headlines and posters.

Typical of early 1800s newsprint type, Americanus and Americanus Italics have three historically accurate ornaments and discretionary OpenType features for commonly used ligatures like ct and st. American Brewery was inspired by lettering found on vintage beer label. Clean and rough version are available, “rough” version comes with a vintage letterpress feel.

The Declaration of Independence was authored by Thomas Jefferson, but his is not the classic handwriting on the engrossed copies familiar to most Americans. That belonged to Timothy Matlack, an early patriot who fought in the Revolution, sat as prosecutor at Benedict Arnold’s court martial, and also penned copies of a number of documents for then-General George Washington. Matlack’s script was compact but legible, perfect for the first and most famous of American documents. Now you, too, can write that way. American Uncial™ was designed by Victor Hammer in 1943. Uncial typefaces consist of letter forms of the Capitalis Monumentalis and the majescule cursive. The origins of Uncial faces date back to the 5th century. In 1953, American Uncial was expanded to include some new figures, also designed by Hammer, and was rereleased by Klingspor with the name Neue Hammer Unziale. The forms are based on old scripts in books of antiquity and the early Middle Ages and the font is a new variation of a classic. Neue Hammer Unziale font has been a favorite for certificates and diplomas and is recommended for headlines and shorter texts in a point size of 12 or larger.
