A special category of typefaces, combining together principles of both serif and sans-serif, is sometimes described as Linear-Antiqua by German typographers. This concept catches the eye wherever it appears and this is also the case of Tabac Glam — a highly contrasting display typeface, expanding the wide expressive spectrum of our Tabac super-family through a new characteristic hue. Tabac Glam is naturally a great complement to the serif Tabac. It’s however only in conjunction with other styles of the superfamily — Sans, Slab and Mono, that you’ll be able to unleash the enormous potential of the wide range of combinations, and the family’s 112 styles will certainly satisfy all needs of both elegant and technical typesetting. Tabac Glam will best stand out in huge grades, on the covers of thick magazines under glossy layers of UV coating, or on snow-white surfaces of displays.

Very condensed typography, thick line and fun look for headlines and advertising where you are looking for saving space and originality at the same time. The upper inclination of the letters, the combination of horizontal with inclined forms, the ascending and descending short, and the lower elongation of some antlers will allow you to print varied styles with a lot of movement according to the context of the design. I started drawing this font with the intention of creating a new decorative typeface Blackletter style but modernizing the strokes, after drawing several letters imitating the ductus of this type of fonts trying to simplify them, emerged all the DNA of the current Jack Stanislav, finally a retro typography without Serif of linear strokes that mimic the angle of a thick pen. This reinterpretation of Caslon Rounded showcases one of the early attempts of type foundries to create a novelty ‘rounded’ typeface for general use. While the lettering might easily convey a more modern look of 1960s or 1970s pop typography, its roots definitely lay in the later part of the 19th Century and the heyday of wood type design. Linotype Dot is part of the Take Type Library, featuring the winners of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contest. Designed by Lucy Davies, the figures are composed of a combination of white and black dots and the contrast makes the font look like points of light and darkness. The general impression of Dot lies somewhere between ornamental and technical. It combines well with sans serif and calligraphy fonts.

Although wood types were at their peak of use during the letterpress era of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there is a growing revival movement of "boutique" print shops who have embraced the look and texture of this form of printing. More modern in design that many of its counterparts, Pleasantwood JNL is still a nice addition to the wood type library re-drawn digitally by Jeff Levine Fonts.

Leibix, inspired by a jolly trademark of the past, is a fun family of five typefaces which transcends different eras of the past. PH from Fontfabric Type Foundry is a multifaceted font system consisting of different font weights and type of condensation. One in the series of fonts celebrating the Halcyon Days of Handlettering. Wigwam evokes, among other things, memories of summer camps and trailer parks of a bygone day. Based on a font presented in the 1933 book Lettering of Today by W. Ben and Ed C. Hunt. Both versions of this font contain the Unicode 1252 (Latin) and Unicode 1250 (Central European) character sets, with localization for Romanian and Moldovan.

Inspired by a vision of the future that's been left in the past, Delphium is a continuation of the cutting edge design language of the 90s, most notably led by the typographic work of The Designers Republic. Designed to embody the pulsing rhythm of electronic music at the turn of the century, Delphium is a bold, highly legible display font that lends itself to impactful contemporary visual communications.

Decade Nouveau JNL is based on examples of an Art Nouveau wood type with a bit of Latin/Western typographic flare, and yet it is also reminiscent of the style's revival during the hippie movement of the 1960s.

Traveling through the central and southern parts of Mexico a number of years ago, I couldn’t help but be impressed with the amazing architecture of the indigenous peoples. From the giant pyramids of Teotihuacan to the extensive and impressive layout of Chichén Itzá to the smaller-but-spectacular Monte Alban ruins in Oaxaca, creativity abounds. One of the things I most enjoyed were the carved stone friezes that ran around many of the more complete buildings. Oaxaca calls to mind those beautiful carvings and, strangely, Chinese writing.

The rainforest of Borneo which has a wealth of big trees and lush is the basis of inspiration of the Geegantic font. Therefore Geegantic has little difference with a similar font that usually appear in the feminine form. As you can see, Geegantic has the form of contrast stroke, a thick and casual. As display fonts, Geegantic aims to touch the needs of the general usage of displays, branding and advertising. However, under certain conditions, it is also possible to fill the text area.

Love songs are the perennials of music, outlasting all other popular fads and styles that come and go. The 1920s through the 1940s is considered by some to be the Golden Age of the American love song. Thousands upon thousands of copies of popular sheet music sold, and the cover lettering and art on many titles were from some of the finest illustrators of their time. Love Song JNL recreates the Art Deco-flavored design found on one such piece of sheet music from the 1930s.

A deconstructive variation of ”Clarendon“ DéFormé was born out of the distortion of the time-honored ”Clarendon“ letterforms, in which the stems and thin strokes have been reversed. Thus, a typeface was created which will remind some readers of a Western typeface, and others of the ordinary typeface of a typewriter. Actually, it is still a robust Clarendon, which has survived ists disfigurement quite well. DéFormé, like its ”mother“, is easily legible, in spite of the inherent emphasis which one is not used to seeing.

The sinuous, organic forms of Bing first came into being on a poster for a Smithsonian Institution exhibit on Siegfried Bing, a German art dealer in Paris who figured prominently in the development of Art Nouveau towards the end of the nineteenth century. Inspired by the natural forms of Antonio Gaudi, and the Paris Metro stations of Hector Guimard, Bing can be used effectively in the modernist style of Art Nouveau and is equally at home in the 1960s psychedelic rejuvenation of that genre.

Social Gathering JNL is modeled from the Art Deco hand-lettered title of a vintage piece of sheet music entitled "Three of Us".

Hoplight is a friendly, curvy, hybrid. A fusion of the cool character of a roman, with the flow and informality of an italic. Throughout Hoplight, many sharp serifs have been replaced by dot style serifs, to allow the contours of the letters to flow seamlessly into the terminations. Hoplight embodies a sense of playful ease.

Another one of those faces that caught my eye in one of my art deco type books, and I wanted it. After I finished the face, I noticed that there is a more clean-cut version of this face in digital format, but my version retains more of the funkiness of the original drawings.

Let your mind wander, think about new cultures, missing links. After discovering a bamboo pen, the founder of the first digital type foundry in the northeast of Brazil proposed a set of graphic signs for a fictional civilization. Stone, established in 1999, is the only record of a mystical culture from the age of rocks.

Human Dingbats are inspired by everyday life, and its main feature is the design-based lines and a wide range of topics of human life. Each Dingbat can be used individually or in the construction of illustrations through the combination of drawings, the limit is the imagination to create a variety of creative possibilities.

Hamilton is a tall, bold display font developed from hand lettering by Samuel Welo. It embodies elements of art nouveau poster lettering and turn-of-the-century advertising design. The result is handsome and versatile, well suited to many uses. The full version includes lots of nice alternate versions of many of the letters.

ITC Juice is the work of American designer David Sagorski and shows a clear influence of cartoon graphics of the 1960s and 70s. The typeface has a number of unique letter forms as well as an extensive set of alternate characters. The creative, humorous ITC Juice hides a subtle sophistication beneath its funky exterior.

A set of astronomical signs  (symbolic representation of the Sun, the Moon, planets and other celestial bodies as well as zodiacal constellations, phases of the Moon, etc), signs of Chinese Zodiac and several ornamental symbols. Designed by Andrey Belonogov. The typeface (under the name Astra) was awarded a Diploma of TypeArt’05 Design Contest.
