I downloaded some fonts on to my zip drive...now I have tryed everything to put these fonts in my hard drive. I have windows 98. I got into my control panel and into fonts but how do I transfer the downloaded fonts in my zip to the hard drive. Please be gentle with me..I am dumb.

you have to unzip the fonts first.. double-click on the downloaded .zip files and extract the .ttf file(s).. install those by following directions posted here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/techinfo/reskit/en-us/default.asp?url=/WINDOWS2000/techinfo/reskit/en-us/prork/prdo_fon_syqy.asp

i know its for windows 2000 but its the same for windows98

You said I had to unzip my files? where do I do this?

This is what I did I downloaded fonts onto zip now i WISH to put them into hard drive. What do I do first....please do step by step. I am very frustrated.

you dont have to put them on zip DRIVE... you have to UNZIP them

.zip is a compressed file format not a zip drive

to unzip .zip files you need winzip or similar program www.winzip.com

once you have the prog, double-click on the .zip file and extract the actual .ttf (font) files.

go to the location you chose to extract your font files to and copy them into your WINDOWS/FONTS directory

you might have to restart ioen applications to be able to use the new fonts

let me know if you need more help
